About me

I am currently pursuing a second bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Oregon State University. My first bachelor’s degree was in journalism from California State University, Fullerton.

In returning to school, I found that I am capable of problem solving my way through almost any challenge. Not only have I mastered difficult subjects such as organic chemistry and calculus, I am aware of my constant need to improve. These traits have made me a meticulous research assistant in the electrical engineering department at Oregon State University.

Prior to joining “Beaver nation” I worked as a reporter for newsrooms such as The Oregonian, Orange County Register, Los Angeles Times Community News and KPCC: Southern California Public Radio.

My ability to synthesize data and communicate findings means that I am a professional communicator who does more than write — although that is my first love.

Additionally, I take photos, shoot video, edit and manage websites. I am a self-motivated individual who has firsthand experience asking the right questions in breaking news, backpack journalism and, now, lab research settings.

Thank you for taking the time to look through my work. Please feel free to reach out to me using the contact me form. I look forward to speaking with you in real life.
